Details About UK Spy Chief Appear On Facebook
Holiday photos and family details about the appointed head of Britain’s MI6 intelligence agency recently appeared on the social-networking site Facebook, but have been removed after a newspaper informed the government of their existence. The pictures, which showed John Sawers playing Frisbee on a beach, and posing with his children, were published in the Mail on Sunday newspaper.According to the paper, the photos and information were posted by Sawers’ wife on Facebook.  The information included details about the couple’s children, and the location of their London home.Shelly Sawers’ page has since been removed from the website. Some politicians called the mishap a security lapse, while others believed it only revealed a few domestic details."It's not a state secret that he wears Speedo swimming trunks," said Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
